So my assumption that this situation is explicitly related to the fact that the credentials for the plugin store is not saved was correct?
How does it work in WSC 6.0? I am not saving my credentials for the plugin store in the instance because someone from the team could leakt them out of the ACP or the SQL database and gain access to my woltlab.com account - has this changed in WSC 6.0? To be honest I have not had my eyes on that particular situation before - it's just the way I am doing my communities for years.

The package server for Plugin-Store supports license ID + serial since quite a while and we recommend this setup. With WoltLab Suite 6.0 the license credentials will automatically be configured for both package servers during initial set up and whenever changing the credentials. What's missing, is the update from 5.5 where the existing credentials might not yet be in sync.
