WoltLab Cloud Modern Shoutbox: Image upload 5.5.0

This product requires the base product Modern Shoutbox Pro.

Enhances the Modern Shoutbox with a convenient image upload.

With this plugin it is possible to upload an image directly as an attachment to the shoutbox entry.

Functions at a glance

  • Inserts a camera icon next to the entry field
  • Clicking on the icon opens the file selection
  • Jpeg, jpeg, png and mov are supported
  • The attachment is embedded in the message as a preview
  • Clicking on the preview opens the original image

Quick guide:

  1. Permissions:
    Edit User Group -> General Permissions -> Modern Shoutbox
    » Can upload images
  2. Upload image
    Simply click the camera icon next to the submit button to select an image
  3. Recommended: Keep aspect ratio of attachments
    Configuration -> Messages -> File attachments
    » Keep aspect ratio when creating preview graphics => YES

    • Ich überarbeite aktuell beide Plugins für die Suite 6.0 sehr stark und gehe davon aus, dass die Giphys künftig überall Einzug erhalten können, wo der Editor verwendet wird. (also auch in der Shoutbox)


      Genaueres wird sich erst in einigen Wochen zeigen.

  • Hallo, super Tool. Das habe ich gesucht. Leider kann ich vom Handy nichts hochladen, weil das Bild zu groß ist. Kann man das irgendwo einstellen? Gerade Bilder vom Handy machen und in die Shoutbox laden ist ja das tolle an dieser Funktion.

      danke für dein nettes Feedback. Die Logik basiert auf die Dateianhänge. Du kannst die Größe also in den Gruppenrechten anpassen: Allgemeine Rechte -> Nachrichten -> Maximale Dateianhangsgröße


      Ich denke mittelfristig sollte das Bild an der Stelle skaliert werden, damit man keine 40 Megapixel Fotos in einer Chatbox hat. Da das aber ein größerer Aufwand ist, ist es eher was für später.     • Wenn du die neuste Version der Shoutbox nutzt wird die Variable im BoxController der Shoutbox definiert. Wenn du die Shoutbox also wie in der Anleitung beschrieben über das Boxsystem eingebunden hast, kann der Fehler nicht auftreten.


      Du kannst auch mal versuchen de Cache zu löschen. Manchmal gibt es Probleme mit Drittanbieter-Plugins.

  • Beim aktivieren bekomme ich nur Fehlermeldungen.

    Ist außer den genannten Einstellungen, noch etwas zu beachten?

    • Die Berechtigung für den BBCode „attach“ muss in den Gruppenrechten der Shoutbox gewährt sein (Häkchen bei unerlaubt raus)

      Aber mir fällt gerade auf, hier steht Cloud-Version, funktioniert es eventuell nur dort?

    • Es gibt keine "Cloud-Version" - unsere Plugins laufe immer sowohl in der Cloud als auch ohne.

  • Wo werden die Bilder abgespeichert? Werden die nach einer gewissen Zeit gelöscht? Wie muss ich mir das technisch vorstellen?

    • Technisch sind es Dateianhänge an dem jeweiligen Shoutbox-Eintrag. Diese werden gelöscht sobald der Shoutbox-Eintrag gelöscht wird.
