After 5.4 update new registation notification email is not being sent

    After updating to 5.4 I'm no longer receiving email notification of new registered users that need to be approved. How to fix?

  • The setting you are referring to is now located for Administrators in the user account under "Settings > Notifications".

    Thanks. I received notification to my personal administrator email about the registration after configuring this setting. But I'm still not receiving the notification to the forum email.

    WoltLab Suite 5.4 added a new protocol for outbound emails, please review that log in the admin panel to look up what is happening.

    I don't know how to check logs. By the way email from contact form gets sent fine.

  • You don't need to know much, it is an actual page in the admin panel. Just look for: Management > Logs > Emails

    I see a few entries there, all with green sent button. I don't know what to do with that.

    Then they have been sent successfully.


    We can only track the emails until they are received by the sending email server, everything else is up to them. If you click on the green button, it will show the reply from the email server. The message will look like this:

    2.0.0 Ok: queued as 513EF1827

    The exact response might slightly differ based on the software being used, but it will always contain this cryptic looking ID at the end. This is the internal message ID, so you can use it to contact the email provider to check their logs against that specific message.

    I can see what I think is an entry for the message I sent through the contact form to check, it does have the green button and ID you described. I don't see any entries for what would've been notification emails about new registrations to the main forum email.

    So That's not the Problem.


    He is wondering why He dont get the notification to the Email specified in the ACP settings in earlier versions.

    And here we are. Yes the update removed the setting in the ACP. The Option in the notifications is the only possible place to get emails about registrations now.
