How to force guests enter email address on article comments

Hello,

I'm not sure if this feature does exist (and I did not find) or does not.

Please take a look at this article in my website: https://pythonlearner.ir/article/38

Now guests can submit a comment (awaiting moderation is the current status) but there's no field to enter an email so that they can be aware the comment is approved and I replied.

Is there anyway or option to enable and add it?

This is not possible, email notifications can only be sent to registered users.

Hello,

There has been no such feature in the past and given the technical constraints of such a feature it is unlikely to be ever implemented. This also raises issues with certain legislation because of the lack of a double opt-in for emails, the registration already solves this issue.

I just have another question.

Is it possible to users only should register to be able to reply and comment?

I see only there's an option to force login to see the content of the site, but I want to let users see articles but only registered users be able to reply.

Yes, you can simply disallow the groups "Everyone" and "Guests" to write comments.

1- But I have a question now: what's the differences between "Everyone" and "Guests" groups?

2- There are three options in groups options: Yes/No/Never. What's the difference between No and Never?

3- I also see a 'Official Post' tag above your post and in the right side of time/date of the post. What's that? I mean here in this forum.
