Dashboard and article cms

I miss something or there are not mention to a new article in dashboard or in the menu like gallery or forum with a number of images not read...

For articles, there is no read/unread status, so new articles are not shown in the badge.

It seems like a mistake to omit it, if everything else has the feature.

What counts as a major release? Is this like RC3 or some point way in the future?

WSC 3.1 counts as a major release.

Not everything does. For instance, guest comments are not pulled on Dashboard, if you allow guest comments that is.

I think it would be something like after WBB Suite 3 goes gold and then Suite 3.1 is released next after it.

A 'major release' is not usually the smaller point releases like 3.0.1.
