Pre-Purchase questions and WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5

    So as I see it the WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5 is available for download free of charge right now and usable til January 2017 after which a license will have to be acquired so it can be kept. Is that correct?


    Would be it be possible to use the WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5 for now and buy a license in January when the demo for the WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5 ends so it can be kept and updated?
    Would it require a full re-installation of the software once the beta runs out or merely an update?


    Also, is it possible to convert posts, forums etc from IPB4x to the newest WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5 once it releases next year?

    Beta versions are not intended for productive use. Generally, beta versions can be updated, but we can not guarantee that. So it may be that you have to reinstall.


    The following data could be imported from IP.Board 4.x:


    - Users, User groups, Avatars, User profile fields, Wall comments, Followers
    - Forums, Threads/Posts, Attachments, Polls, Watched threads, Likes
    - Conversations, Attachments

    Is there any information as to when the WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5 will be fully released?
    Also, does converting cost anything or can that be done relatively quickly and free-of-charge?

    Another thing, if I were to purchase a license for the Burning Board (forum software only) for 79.99€, would it also carry over to the new and updated WoltLab Suite 3.0 Beta 5? (the license that is)

    You get the current version at the time of purchase. An access to the next major version is not included in the purchase.


    We know that there are manufacturers that offer free updates. But these have calculated their normal selling prices accordingly. We prefer to offer you a lower selling price, because only few customers would have an advantage of the free update. We also had to isolate the free update to a certain period. Therefore, discussion would rise again with the people who are just over this period.


    So basically the same discussion as now, only with a more expensive selling price.

    Is there any information on when WoltLab Suite 3.0 is supposed to come out officially?
