New currencies for paid subscriptions

  • Hello everybody,

I'd like to add more currencies to paid subscriptions, could you please tell me if this is possible and if it is, how can I do it?

    Thanks and regards.

  • You'll probably be waiting forever for this, unless they're putting it in WBB 4.2. The Stripe Donation plugin I and two other developers put together, takes various currencies with Stripe, but it doesn't handle purchasing or premium user groups through Woltlab itself. It's just a donation plugin. The only other plugin that might help, would be Viecode Shop and would be little cheaper to get it from their site directly, rather than through WL Store. You could also try submitting plugin request for it, but it will probably fall on deaf ears and be long time before anyone even replies to it. Aslan, Me and some others were wanting Stripe payment option, put requests in for it, and nothing came from it, hence me trying to do own plugin to handle my needs (with donations only).

We support all currencies offered by PayPal. If you add an own currency, it could cause problems with the payment. Further information can be found under https://www.paypal.com/en/cgi-…d=p/sell/mc/mc_wa-outside

The currencies are hardcoded in the file /wcf/lib/system/payment/method/PaypalPaymentMethod.class.php (line 30-54).

Stripe would be a good alternative, the Viecode is not an option for me, too expensive just to manage paid subscriptions and I don't know if it can take other currencies than those supported by PayPal.

I wonder if PayPal and Stripe would create conflicts with the subscriptions. If they don't I don't see a reason for not implementing both.

While I still want to add other currencies to the paid subscriptions system, I'm also interested in a donation plugin, although is not a priority. Is your plugin available for download? Do you sell it, or it's free, or is just for your usage?

Yeah that's what I thought at first too lol. But for my needs, and thinking for the future, I went and just got shop for memberships, possibly selling other things, etc, then my Stripe plugin for donations.

It shouldn't cause any conflicts because the Stripe donation plugin doesn't have anything to do with memberships, user group elevations, etc. It's just a way to donate and receive the funds.

The "latest" version so far is here and you "liked" it the other day? Thanks for that lol. I'm still missing a translation for the three plugins, hence not really making public threads about them yet. It's free, how to use it is over on that post with screen shots.

That's good at least, glad they got back to you about it and provided link on what's supported. :)

Edit: Forgot too, that Viecode shop does Stripe payment options too, not just PayPal and few others.
