Is not this a little repetitious?
What I'm referring to is the notification that they replied to a thread that I participated in AND that they quoted my post (both being the same post)?
More a question than a problem for dev's to answer

while it might look a little redundant (but both will be marked read at the same time) at the first look it definitely starts to make sense once more than one user replies to the thread, as this will merge the notifications (and Paul’s post should not be missing in the merged notification). Take a look at this example I had today:
