I've just update my test forum, and my French language has been overwritten (all variables are in English). Do you have planed to fix that, because we don't have this problem on wBB 3.

As far as I know the WCF in it's current state is only shipped with German and English. So I do not know where your French does come from.
It's my translation
And the language is overwritten with English variables
It would be nice if you'd stick to english, so that everyone can follow the discussion and participate when needed. Discussing the problem in french will not really help anyone understand it or solve it.

I'm sorry, here is the translation of what I said :
QuoteI think that the script to upgrade replace all the language variables in English of languages that it don't know to avoid every bug which can appear in case of a language variable missing.
The solution which is the most easy is to upload the file .xml and the script of the upload will replace the translated variables in the language and the others which don't exist in the file will stay in English.

yes sorry, but there is nothing really important, we discuss about the subject
Could you please provide me the XML translation in order to attempt to reproduce this? Feel free to attach it in a conversation or send it by mail to ebert@woltlab.com
The same problem. After updating the language is overwritten.

Same problem..
I doubt that it is the file itself, but now I have real data to work with.
I'm able to confirm and reproduce this issue, currently working on it, expect a solution shipped along with the next release Thank you for your assistance!
Great. Thanks!
I have resolved the issue and your translation is now kept upon update.
PS: Starting with Burning Board 4, we're using the native language name, e.g. Deutsch instead of German. In your case, it should be Français instead of French, see line 2 of your language XML.

Ok, not sure about that, that's why I've used English translation. Thank you
@Alexander Ebert, but what about the Russian language?
Need to write Русский or Russian?
The language names are in the language itself. So "Русский" would be correct.
