Copying an existing Forum to another domain?

    Hello dear WBB-Forum,

I have a question that I couldn't find an answer to after searching the forum and Google.
I have a forum that I've been working on for years with the 5.4 license. I have created a new domain for other purposes and would like to save a lot of work by copying my existing forum completely to the new domain in order to use it as a template for the new forum and to change it before starting from scratch again. Is this possible? If so, what steps do I need to take? Maybe someone has already written something about this. Otherwise I would be very happy about instructions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

All you need to do is to move it to the new domain and then access the admin panel by the new direct link. If the new domain is example.com then the admin panel is available via https://example.com/acp/. This will automatically launch the recovery mode that allows you to update the domain.

  • If you want to keep the original forum, though, you need to copy the directory instead of moving it and also import the data from one MySQL database to another and adjust the database credentials in the config.inc.php within your core directory.
