Can I safely delete a duplicate folder in my forum home directory?

  • Since my upgrade to WSC 3.1 last year, during which I experienced some difficulties (which were very kindly sorted out by Alexander Ebert), I have ended up with a folder named homedir created on the day of the upgrade/problem. It contains duplicates of the entire website including public_html, with each folder and all the containing files having exactly the same date, i.e there are no modification dates after 3 April 2018.

This causes the back up to be very large (about 2Gb) which is something I need to address.

My question is whether I can safely delete that folder?

Was there an additional backup of the website made on this day?

Check the application paths (ACP -> Packages -> Applications) and check your webspace config in your management interface from your provider.

If the directory is not listed there, I would simply rename it and delete it after a few days, if there are no problems.

That was a good idea. To rename it first and see if it caused any issues.
