Hosting recommendations?

  • So we're currently email blacklisted by several providers (Microsoft, AOL, yahoo) and while I am attempting to get us off those blacklists, our host is refusing us a new IP.

So, as a last resort we'll need to move hosts...

We get 3 million hits a month, move around 40gb of data (awstats) and have 18000 members.

Can anyone recommend an affordable VPS with Plesk - preferably UK or EU based, with no restrictions on adult content and under £40gbp per month?

  • I don't know if they have restrictions for adult content but you could take a look at DigitalOcean.

My styles and plugins in the Plugin-Store.

♪Quiero robarle los minutos a las horas pa' que mis padres nunca se me pongan viejos...♫

  • I would recommend using either DigitalOcean or Vultr - mine are currently running on Vultr, with a backup node running on Scaleway.

Digital Ocean does allow adult content, by the way.

  • I highly recommend 247-Host - based in Eastern Canada.

They are an ADULT Hosting company.

    URL: https://www.247-host.com/

You can view the various Hosting Levels and the costs before you contact them.

If you do decide to go with 247-Host, I would suggest you let them know about your expected data usage.

These people - Tech Staff AND Billing Staff - are very efficient people, and they KNOW what they are doing!

They are extremely efficient and fast in responding to Tech Help requests.

  • Looks good but they don't offer Plesk.

By adult content I'm not talking porn btw - more that I want freedom for frank adult discussion without fear of breaking TOS.

They told me they can do a migration from Plesk to cpanel, but I do prefer Plesk nowadays as I'm so used to it.

cPanel is so much better because it is extremely thorough (complete in regards to options available).!

cPanel is NOT difficult to use. I can do it - and that should mean just about everyone can!

As for: "By adult content I'm not talking porn btw"

Don't let the fact they handle "porn" accounts turn you off from using them!

As I said before, these people KNOW what the heck they are doing!

And the response to Tech Help requests is top notch!

I would not go with any other Hosting Provider; service, tech help, and quality of the hosting, is extremely important to me.

They have "gone out of their way" several times to help me with problems that normally other Hosting Providers would have

told me to take a long walk walk off a very short peer - I know that from experience!

  • I know cpanel well and used it for years - I just have a preference or Plesk.

Strangely, when I first switched to Plesk I hated it.

OK Moonclamp, whatever you are comfortable with!;)

Hope you manage to find a good, reliable AND helpful Hosting Provider!:)

  • I suggest to setup a server with Upcloud or Linode. That's powerful and saves you money on hosting.

    Just purchased my license. :thumbup::love:
