Disable avatars on home page

I have home page with Hot Threads and Latest Post options. This along with last post avatar offers at least 10 images to load on home page. Takes around 2 seconds on my forum. If only there was an option to disable avatar on home page, my forum will load at least 2 seconds faster. A good amount considering page load speed is now a critical SEO metric. What do you think ?
