They stated it's an Alpha. So, expect things to change. But I agree at this point the styling doesn't look good.

it's different. Member can enter values in these custom thread fields, the possibilities to use this thread fields are huge.

For example, if you want to make a buy and sell forum, you can add some custom thread fields, eg:

- Price field

- new / used field

- weight field

- description field

- and so on

I started setting up a new forum with XF 1.5 yesterday (I've had the license for a while). The experience is awful compared to using WoltLab. I'm guessing installing and updating things through XF 2's ACP still isn't going to be an option like it is with WoltLab, WordPress and other software?

Doubt you'll see the style changed much as it is now. They might make a few tweaks here and there, but what you see now - will be pretty much how it will stay looking.

Custom thread fields is something I was hoping Woltlab would do.

Maybe you want to file this suggestion in the appropriate board? The sooner the better!

One of the developers says custom user fields are in the software already.

Without a manual and a clear understanding of how the software works, I cannot pursue the point further. It's up to others if they wish to respond to Matthias.

I saw Xenforo 2 yesterday and I don't really like their default style. Of course there will be premium styles but, personally I use default styles.

I am actually very surprised with the new default style for XF2. After seeing what they did with XF1, the default style was very good looking when it first came out. It was a real plus factor for XenForo 1 at the start and blew all other forum software away on looks at the time 5-6 years ago. So I really was expecting they'd come up with something good again that would make XF2 look really good, but this new default style is terrible they've come up with.
