HIde a forum from new posts and dashboard

Hi All

Sorry for asking this question should it already be answered somewhere but i might be using the wrong terminology in my search.

I have 2 forums that publish rss feeds from my groups other sites.
Is it possible to stop them from displaying in the new posts and dashboard of all users?

Site is:
http://www.totalgamingforum.com/

Forums i want to hide from new posts and daashboard (so they will still appear for people to search in the actual forum for people to go and manually click)

I have tried blocking from the dashboard in administration panel but members say they still see them.

You could edit these boards and set them to be no longer searchable, this both excludes them from the global search and the dashboard.

Besides that I'm afraid to tell that there is no other option for now, this is addressed with the next major though.

It seems that this doesn’t work as described in the following German thread:
