board id number for page menu button link

I'm trying to create a page menu button that will display a thread list to a forum

what is the correct way of entering the board id for the link?

Also I want to create a button that will start a new thread in a specific forum.

I just need to know how to enter the forum/board id.

It's not really intuitive and user-friendly, with 5.0 we're offering a far easier solution for this
