Bavarian folk music?

This question comes from a discussion on my forum. What's going on with the monsters at the end of this video? Are they part of a Bavarian folk tale? I figured this would be a good place to ask .

Also, I love this music even though I can't understand a word of what is being said in it. Are there any similar songs that can be considered classics?
