Option to add more blocks to FileBase center area

Notice with Gallery 2.1 that under Appearance/Dashboard you can also add more blocks to center area, along with sidebar. But with FileBase there is no option to do that, only add extra sidebar blocks. But the middle area needs extra blocks adding to it to match sidebar length and there's no option at all to do it like you can with Gallery. On gallery index I display my shoutbox extra on it.

Is it actually intended to be that way with FileBase (or is it a bug), as it doesn't make sense to me why you let the Gallery index have extra blocks added to middle area and not the FileBase middle area?
