[SOLVED]How the hell do I change background and logo.

  • Hey guys, i tried importing different styles but it just says

    "Unable to import the selected style, uploaded file is not a valid style."

    This is probably because I have no idea WHAT to upload. When I downloaded something from the plugin store (downloaded some free styles), i get some folders but i have no idea what to do next. Im new to everything about Burning Board.

    Thanks for help.

    Also i wonder how I change the logo.

    Thx

  • I only want to change the background to a picture I have and change the logo/banner, atm its the default when installed, it says like "BURNING BOARD" and the logo before the text. How do i change these to what I want? I have .png files.

    EDIT: I fixed the logo. I just want to change background image to a battlefield related background. I have a .png image, but what do i have to do to make it this picture?

    EDIT #2: Fixed both.

  • Hi, you care to share how you fixed these two issues? I'm a newbie to WBB, and totally new to forum management :/

    Ofc I will help:)

    I uploaded my logo and background to dropbox, so upload your pictures somewhere that it will be stored forever.

    For the logo:

    Go to the Appearance->Styles->List styles, and choose the style you want to edit it on.
    Then go to Global Settings, you will see a option called Page Logo, past your Logos link there and click Submit for the change to be saved.

    For the background:

    Go to Advanced Settings(we are still on the same style), you will see something like this in the first box:

    /* background-image for body, tabular boxes and dialogs */
    body, .tabularBox, .dialogTitlebar {
    background-image:url(urlhere);
    background-repeat:repeat-x;
    background-color:black;
    }

    I added background-repeat:repeat-x; background-color:black; myself I think, cause a black background behind my background picture looks better and its not repeating the background when you scroll down. Paste your background url inside background-image:url(URL INSIDE HERE);

    Remember you have to paste it inside the ().

    Hope it worked for you:)

  • Hey!
    Thanks for the reply, i had already figured out the background image myself!
    but about the logo, isn't there a way to store the logo in your server, Then post the link there?
    say page logo: wcf/images/xxxx.png?

    again, thank you so much!

    Sure, just upload the image to your server and paste the relative path there.
