Changing the appearance of Date/Time on the main page?

Hi there,

at the moment all date/time entrys on my main page look like this: (Oct 28th 2009, 8:16am).
Is there any possibility / setting to change this to a smaller variant?
Like (10/28/09, 8:16am) maybe? Thanks in advance.
