What Costs Are Involved in the Migration?

Each migration is carried out by us individually, taking into account your requirements, both in terms of the source software and the scope of the desired data transfer.

What Happens During a Migration?

The contents of your existing installation will be transferred to our software, only data that is part of the original software or generated by it will be considered. However, contents provided by extensions (plugins or hacks) are not recognized and thus omitted.


For the migration we need the complete contents from the file system as well as from the database. We will discuss the exact procedure directly with you and support you at every step.

Upon request, we offer individual agreements for the available storage space and the monthly page views. The conditions of the selected plan apply, taking into account the differently agreed quotas.
We do not artificially limit the growth of your community, there are no limits to the maximum number of registered users.
Appoint as many moderators and administrators as you need to successfully run your community.
User privileges can be granularly assigned to sections and subsections of your community. User groups allow you to conveniently and transparently group access permissions and assign them to users as you see fit.
Good passwords offer limited protection for user accounts; a second factor (for example, a smartphone app) can provide additional protection for an account. Using the modern WebAuthn standard, additional browser functions (e.g. iCloud Keychain) or USB dongles are also supported.

Only available when using an own domain, the setup of WebAuthn is carried out by WoltLab in consultation with the customer.
Connect your community with an existing user database and the convenience of a single sign-on (SSO). We offer customized solutions for your use case and take care of the ongoing maintenance of the integration.

In addition to standard procedures such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect 1.0, we can also cover complex solutions such as SAML, Okta or SAP CDC.
Your own domain can be connected to your installation free of charge. When accessing and using your site, only your domain will be visible in the browser's address bar at all times.
Removes the branding “Community Software: WoltLab Suite” displayed at the end of on all pages. You can also insert your own branding at your own discretion.
In all offered plans, packages from the official Plugin-Store can be installed, which have been previously reviewed by WoltLab staff and marked with the blue “WoltLab Cloud” label.

Once a day a backup copy of all data of the installation is made and stored encrypted. You can restore your installation at any time independently and free of charge to a state from up to 8 weeks ago.

The backups of the last 7 days are additionally stored in a secondary data center more than 200km away. We comply with the criteria of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for geo-redundant data storage.
Criminals do not target just data, but also attack websites with the intention of overloading them with a flood of requests. The halt of such attacks is more and more often done only by paying a considerable amount, thus causing financial damage in addition to the trouble.

In cooperation with our partner Voxility, we offer free protection against such distributed denial of service attacks in all of our plans. Attacks are detected and absorbed before they can cause any damage.
Our servers are located in a Tier III+ data center in Frankfurt am Main, the direct connection to well-known providers (for example Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone) guarantees reliable and short packet runtimes for optimal loading times.

The data center is certified according to ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 50001, PCI DSS, ISAE 3402 and is TÜV certified.
All data, including data backups, are stored without exception on servers in Germany in compliance with the applicable data protection laws. You can request a copy of your stored data at any time.
We keep backups of your community for up to 8 weeks. In addition, the backups of the last 7 days are kept in a separate, geo-redundant data center to keep a copy of the data in case of a disaster.

As part of your business continuity management, we offer a replication service for your community’s daily backups. Once a day, a copy of the last backup is uploaded to a server of your choice. The transfer is fully encrypted, the backup itself is symmetrically encrypted with AES-256 in CTR mode.

Regular error messages in the software are embedded in the familiar appearance. In some special cases, such as missing files or directories, a generic error message is generated by the server.

Upon request, these error pages can be customized with your own logo or customized text. For technical reasons, the file size of the page including logo is limited to a maximum of 14 kB.
The minimum availability on a monthly basis is:

Not included are scheduled maintenance work, which we inform you about with a lead time of 1-2 weeks in normal cases.
Starting from the “Business” plan, we set up read access to the database of the WoltLab Cloud installation for customers on request. This also includes the ability to run database queries for the purpose of collecting statistical data.

This has no impact on the regular operation of the software.

In accordance with Directive 2006/112/EC, as amended, prices may vary according to the country of residence of the customer. The prices in the offers are inclusive of VAT applicable in Germany.
