The user's wall should be thoroughly redesigned; buttons such as 'follow' and 'send a message' need to be more prominent. Is there already a preliminary layout for the planned overhaul of this section?

should be thoroughly redesigned
Why?

Why?
-
Because it looks like it was made 7 years ago?

And?

Just change something so that it is changed is not a good reason. And your reason does not apply to the second quote.

Do you have the internet? Browse it, see how modern repositories and UI/UX projects look, and don't ask silly questions. If you think that the User Board in WoltLab is great and can't be improved, I have no questions. It looks aesthetically unpleasing and outdated, and that's enough. The appearance of UI/UX works the same way as outdated code. Interesting why the design created 7 years ago is considered great for you, but what about the code not updated for 7 years? Guess.

Some parts of the software do look a bit dated which is no surprise given that they are old. However, this is not necessarily the end of the world, because the functionality is still by far the most important aspect.
Please try to avoid arguments that solely focus around modern design trends because those are subject to personal preference and are changing over the years. Instead, you should focus your arguments on how they improve the user experience, for example, by improving work flows or making existing functionality easier to use. Slapping some fancy styling usually does not make things better, they just look different afterwards.

I'm not saying that WoltLab has to have everything that's cutting-edge in terms of design, but some sections look truly outdated and there are much more convenient, better solutions. For example, in some cases, text could be replaced with icons, which already improves the user's visual experience, etc. There are many factors positively influencing the user experience, and it doesn't necessarily have to be the top trend of 2023.
Look this:
I will add that this is not new either, because the template was also made a long time ago. And it looks better in terms of arrangement and overall shape.

That's IPB. And just because it looks different, it doesn't necessarily mean, that it's better. As already stated, it's lot of personal preference.
If you make suggestions, make sure to point out the value/positive impact of your proposed changes.
As for the current proposal, I don't see a valid reason, why WoltLab should make the suggested changes.

Renewing the appearance of this small area would give freshness to the design. It was fine when the minimalist design was imposed, but now it is too flat. I do not like to compare with other companies, however, in this case I will make an exception. The way Invision displays this information seems to me to be elegant as well as minimalistic. They use text, no icons, but the way they display it is visually beautiful.
Edit. Grafidea I read your reply after answering, I see we have arrived at the same point by different paths.

And that's what I'm talking about.

But the only difference now is not just the box with the "Archivements"? This could be realized very similarly with the trophies. Or what exactly are you so excited about?
