Our gallery combines modern technology with a modern, attractive design and all presentation needs. The smart navigation allows for a smooth operation for users and team. Practical in-line editing capabilities, a variety of settings and other convenience features round out the operation.
In our gallery your users can decide who can see their pictures. Albums can be set to private, which hides their contents from all users. Private albums and the pictures contained can only be seen by you and your friends.
Pictures and albums
Images are being presented as real photos with white borders, lying on a desk, albums are in the form of a photo stack, as albums are image collections. Images can be collected quite freely in albums. On the overview page you can view all images or all albums and also filter that page or sort it individually. In your own own profile area, there is a list of all your pictures and albums.
Preset global categories can be used for categorization of pictures, much like the tagging feature. Albums can be protected from access by others, by making them accessible only to friends.
Comment function
As with blog articles, users can comment pictures in the gallery. In the comments emoticons and links may be used. Other formatting options are not available in comments, to avoid overloading comments unnecessarily.
An administrator can configure who can comment on which images and who can edit or delete comments. Unregistered commenting users have to fill in a captcha already known from Burning Board.
Order by categories & tagging
The gallery offers its users several ways to bring a large number of images in order.
Global categories give users of the gallery a comprehensive sorting ability by topic for their photos. Pictures and albums can be additionally tagged, images can then be easily found over the tag cloud. Clicking a tag will show gallery images, forum topics or blog articles, all tagged with the same terms.
Global overview page
Global Overview page serves the entire community, since it lists pictures or albums from the individual profile galleries chronologically in succession in a clear manner, and creates relationships that way. The overview pages for images and albums can be filtered by categories and tags and also be sorted according to certain criteria, such as on "comments", through the new filter bar. The new sidebar with their free-capitalized and positioned as information boxes provide a quick overview of recent activity in the gallery. Other pictures marked as private will not appear on this page.
The overview page now offers an image radius-search, in a separate tab. Using this handy feature you can find all pictures in the gallery, that were taken in an arbitrary radius of an equally arbitrary starting point. This feature uses Google Maps.
Privacy
In certain situations it may be necessary to make content only available to specific persons. This we have taken into account in our gallery. There is the possibility to set albums to "private", which makes them and their contents invisible for normal users. Only friends have then the opportunity to access private albums and view their content. Private albums and their contained images are shown only the owners and friends in the global information pages. Albums and images set as private will be marked with a warning icon.
Map function (Google Maps)
It is now possible to assign images to the shooting location manually, so you're no longer dependent on cameras which store Geo-imaging information as Exif-data. On the overview-map you can see the locations of all images that the gallery contains, on the album map those contained in an album. The map radius-search finds all images contained in the gallery that were taken in a specified radius to the desired location. The map displayed on large images can be enlarged now comfortably to better illustrate the full image-shooting context.
