Efficient moderation
Meaningless titles, badly placed board posts, merging or deleting threads keep your moderators away from their proper work: Moderating the discussions. Our software enables moderators to use powerful and intuitive moderation tools: Edit a thread title by simply double-clicking it; a built-in wastepaper bin stores deleted posts and threads empowering moderators to restore accidentally removed content. Additionally context-sensitive operations are accessible through an option menu.
Using form checkboxes you can mark multiple posts in order to edit them with a single, selected action at once. Creating moderated posts which need to be reviewed and activated by an moderator can be defined per board or user group basis.
Private messages
An inbox for private messages gives users the opportunity to keep track of their activity with other users. It drastically improves relationships within your community and increases their palatability. Burning Board introduces a brand-new user interface for private messages - providing every feature from our post editor: WYSIWYG-mode, BB-Codes, multiple attachments, smilies, quotes and much more!
Furthermore you may sort messages into user-defined folders and create rules defining an automatically processing for incoming messages.
Personal notepad
Answering recurring questions and typical problems are a common issue in discussion boards, drastically decreasing users experience. Our “Personal notepad” offers a wide variety of features and is available in mostly every context across our software. You can define as many entries as you need, starting from simple text blocks up to complete templates . The post editor enables you to insert them with nothing more than just one click.
YouTube & code
So called BB-Codes empowers you to use any desired formatting in your messages. The system is flexible and highly extensible, we provide out of the box a huge set of BB-Codes. Movies from different video portals like YouTube or MyVideo can be embedded with a simple click using their corresponding BB-Code.
Technical communities tend to deal with programming code, often used to describe their questions or problems. We support a wide variety of programming languages, all of them featuring “syntax highlighting” which colorizes each component for easier reading.

Burning Board gives your members the opportunity to represent themselves: The user profile shows detailed information about each member, including personal interests, statistics and much more. You are free to extend user profiles with self-defined profile fields and categories.
