I think woltlab can make it even better than it is right now instead of removing the wcom forum feature, woltlab hold the bugtracker they can add bugtracker to each plugin that will help and keep maybe even bigger plugin developers here, in that way woltlab can be unique and not like "other plugin sites" this way our users can work together fixing and improving the plugins, so far we got quality not quantity something that made woltlab not being like others ...

I have used this wcom feature 2 or 3 times and i got answered fast even if my request or question was the only one in english from that plugin support but still got answered and fast, i found it very helpfull.
It's true that some plugin developers who build big plugins will make their own website, but please let a space for those who try make plugins, who start now trying to make something if you know what i mean, we have to give them something because we need this kind of users who try to add some things like plugins/styles etc.
The wcom support feature is something i wish to have on my website and about the community plugin that woltlab said will make i really wish to include this feature at least that feature will make me buy it and i'm not joking around.

You misunderstood me, it seems. Noone said that the users wanted the WCom forums to be closed.
People kept complaining about how bad and uncomfortable our boards behaved and that so many functions are missing in their opinion. Most of the stuff they complained about was stuff that we do not want in our forums.
But we have to do something about the problems there. So we went back to the roots of the WCom idea, where no exclusive forum was planned and there was only the download database with the plugin descriptions, and start again from that point.
The most important forum categories from the WCom will be taken over to the WoltLab Support Forum. Nothing will be deleted, maybe only the offtopic area and similar.
Actually, many complainers are ignoring the WCom now, there seems to be a regeneration phase going on, because since weeks there is no trouble anymore. Seems that most of the people like the place, after the whiners have gone. Somewhat interesting.

Harald, WCOM is used now and it took a while to make wcom users using it, now "ruin" it! because we want to be like "other plugin sites"? what answer is that? Please show me a thread where wbb users request wcom to be like mozilla plugin site even if it's in german but i really want to see where or if they requested this.

Ditto. Keep the forum for each plugin. Its really nice to have.

@ oscar: ???
@ Puts: I only translated Marcel Werk's Post here, so i can't tell you what i don't know. I think that will be discussed in another announcement when we can announce something about that.

Other plugin sites like mozilla have no support forums for theirs users also. What use is plugin development if you have no webspace? Sounds strange to me.

I repeat here too, removing the support forum section for each plugin it's a bad idea, there will be users who will avoid posting their plugins because have no place where to give support or will post their plugins but there will be no support. This can have a good part as well, we will get only plugin devs who can afford giving support but here is a problem too, in time they will consider it as a service and many will ask you to pay for it
anyway i may be wrong but this is how i see it now.
