Try contact your webhosting regarding tmp thing, i had same thing on hostgator, but only while installing some plugins not when installing the wbb. This is not a wbb issue, it's server side but maybe some wise guru can correct me.

Same error i reported here Maybe disk quota exceeded in folder '/tmp'.

I got that error while trying to install some wbb plugins, never got an answer not from my hosting or from wbb staff i mean an answer that may fix this isssue.
But i will tell you what i did to can install the plugins that gave me the error, i installed xampp on my pc, installed the forum there and the plugins with no problem, then i added everything into an archive and uploaded on my hosting, untared there and also updated my database with the one from my pc. This worked for me so i gave up expecting an sollution for this issue that might be hosting issue or wbb issue but i think is hosting problem :)

The install script of wbb tries to untar tzhe wbb installation package (WCFSetup.tar.gz). This fails on your server. That is not an issue of wbb. It can be caused by poore server settings, or simply by the fact, that your webservers hard drive is full or you have reached the limit of space free on your webspace.

Anyway, you should contact your hoster and try to find a solution together with him ;)
Best regards,
Sebastian Teumert
