Marcel Werk is the founder and Managing Director of WoltLab.
While his time at school he privately studied the programming languages Java and PHP enthusiastically. In time he also experimented with developing private websites and small applications.
Before finishing school he already began to develop the first version of Burning Board®, the successful forum software. A short time later WoltLab had become his full time profession consequentially transforming his hobby into his main occupation.
Marcel is the main person in charge for developing products at WoltLab. Being Managing Director and main developer of WoltLab at once, he focusses on high quality standards when developing software. His visions led to successful business concepts and products such as Burning Board® and Community Framework™.

1990 he graduated at the HTBLA for Graphic-Design at the Ortweinplatz in Graz. Several jobs for different companies in the graphics and design industry followed, but also some in other sectors, as well as some very inspiring long-time trips to foreign countries, like India, taking his talent to further levels and making up his already good English skills.
He is enthusiastically providing his long-time design experience for WoltLab now. He is responsible for all design matters, be it web, screen or print, as well as HTML and CSS coding. He also moderates in the Support Forum with great pleasure.
In private Harald generally likes it cozy, he is interested in books, indie music, photography, biking and of course the internet. But he also has a fable for architecture of the late 19th century, does paintings and drawings and likes to travel far.
