The internet is changing the daily lifestyle and business of many people. We were also very curious about the new technologies and thus began very early to develop our own websites and web applications - just for fun.
Early in the year 2001 we were looking for a bulletin board software, which should be easy to install and contain all the functions, we were looking for back then. None of the solutions we found could fulfill our demands regarding quality and extensibility unfortunately. So we decided to develop our own forum software as well as to offer it for others later on.
The software we developed was a great success. There was very much interest in it as we released to the public, and the user-base was rapidly growing, so that there were a lot of interesting ideas and suggestions soon and we could optimize it from year to year.
Burning Board 3 and Community Framework are both culmination points of those development efforts. They are the result of our long-time experience regarding community software and exemplary as of modernity and accessibility!
Our slogan Communities for Everyone is up-to-date nowadays better than ever. Our software solutions are being used in over 100 countries worldwide. More than 30.000 customers have purchased Burning Board since the year 2002 and most of these forums are still online today Additionally there are countless board installations based on the free of charge version Burning Board Lite. We estimate about one million users being online in WoltLab based forums daily around the world.
